The Lighting Basics class begins by teaching students the fundamental rules of lighting and then applies these to both indoor studio lighting and outdoor natural lighting settings.
Students taking the full four week course are introduced to studio lighting equipment. From there, students will explore metering, portrait lighting set-ups, white balance, modifiers, and more. Students will have an opportunity to work with a wide variety of the latest studio lighting equipment and a model.
The two week outdoor lighting class is perfect for photographers who want to learn to capture images in natural settings and to overcome challenges that outdoor lighting presents including glare, shadows and more. The course covers natural vs. artificial lighting, how to work with reflectors and scrims, using fill flash and techniques for shooting without a flash.
